Co-creation
- We all participate in the discussion of what it actually means to connect with each other.
- We do not merely passively follow the host’s lead. We all actively decide together on the activities.
- Participants are encouraged to propose variations on the activities.
- Each of us can even creatively invent and suggest more options, which are added to the written lists.
Mutual Respect and Support
- We treat each other with kindness and respect.
- We create a safe and supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable to express themselves and grow.
- Our aim is to truly connect and help each other, not to judge or criticize.
Authenticity
Authenticity is at the heart of our interactions. We encourage everyone to bring their true selves, embracing vulnerability and honesty. By being authentic, we create a space where genuine connections can flourish, free from artificiality, pretense, and facade. Whether you feel joyful or uncertain, shy or expressive, there is room for your real self, not the one shaped by expectations or social norms. This openness not only strengthens our bonds but also fosters an environment where everyone feels valued and understood.
Playful Structure
Structure brings safety. Play brings life. Co-Creating Connection balances both through clear activity options, light facilitation, and the freedom to adjust as the group evolves.
Effectiveness
Doing of the activities is not the most important thing. They are merely tools. The important thing is the goal of really connecting with each other, as well as making each other feel good. Therefore, after each activity we share how we feel in order to check whether the activity really did move us towards our goal.
We treat the meeting as a fun and exciting experimental research lab, where we try out different ideas and see what actually works best for us.
Gentle Exploration of the Edge of Our Comfort Zone
We know that personal growth - physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual - occurs beyond our comfort zone, or near its edge, where we feel some challenge. If we remain only deep within our comfort zone, unchallenged, that’s nice and pleasant, and it has its benefits and place and time, but we also want growth.
The great thing about this exploration is that when it is done correctly, with consciousness and sensitivity, it leads us to feel special feelings of excitement and joy that are not possible in activities deeply inside our comfort zone.
Hence, some of the activities are designed to be inside our comfort zone, while others are designed to gently challenge us, in a level suitable to the participants in the meeting.
